Mark V. Reyes emerged in the independent film scene with his first short film, Last Full Show (2005), a coming of age story that premiered at the Clermont Ferrand International Film Festival and was screened in Tribeca and other film festivals. The film went on to win in the Best Short Film category at Turin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, and is currently available on DVD through Strand Releasing.
Mark’s second film, God Only Knows (2008), was also screened at Tribeca, and won Best Short Film at the NY Asian American Film Festival, as well as the Audience Award at the Cinemalaya Film Festival. In 2010, Mark taught short filmmaking in the UK for York St. John University’s summer arts program Creative Chaos.
Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Mark moved to San Francisco in 2000 to study film at the Academy of Art University. His international background has molded his sensibility and film aesthetic. He has recently finished his third short film RAYMOND. He has just completed his first feature screenplay Mud and Glitter.
